Asia bulletin: Konami FY22 Q3 revenue up 6% year-on-year

The company broke down its revenue by business segment, with Digital Entertainment leading the way with a total of JPY156.4bn, up 2% year-on-year, as revenue for Gaming and Systems for the period climbed 49% year-on-year to JPY27.9bn.

Also within the JPY226.9bn total were Amusement (JPY10.6bn) and Sports (JPY33.7bn), with those segments growing 23% and 10% respectively year-on-year.

The group reported a business profit of JPY41.1bn for the period, up 31% from the prior-year period, with operating profit climbing 38% year-on-year to JPY37.5bn. Profit before income taxes for FY22 Q3 was JPY38.4bn, a 36% increase from the prior-year period.

Within gaming, Konami highlighted that its core Dimension series cabinets delivered strong sales,Play Casino Online with operations in North American and Australian markets returning to pre-Covid levels.

Furthermore, Konami’s casino management systems sustained a strong performance with the continued instalments of Synkros at the group’s casino facilities.
